Established in 1994, Cilegon International School aims to provide a quality education for expatriate children from Playgroup up to Year 8. Situated near the west coast beaches of Java, about one hour from Jakarta, the school offers quality facilities on a purpose-built campus. These include a swimming pool, large playing field, adventure playground, computer room (plus computers in every classroom), well-equipped library, science lab and gymnasium. The school's high standards are facilitated by a low student/teacher ratio, a well-qualified and experienced staff and strong support for children who do not have English as their first language. The school year runs from the beginning of September through to mid July and is divided into three terms. For those of Year 1 and above, the day begins at 08:00 and finishes at 14:35. Transport to and from school is available for all those who request it.
