Salary Range    $50,000 - $70,000 (This position is grant funded for a term of 12-18 months)

 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee the design and implementation of climate resilience initiatives developed as part of PlaNYC, making sure that an adoption strategy is in place for new and existing needs

• Lead and/or review agency and interagency work products, and ensure successful implementation and completion of projects

• Create and direct the formation of public policy, while assessing the implications on New York City residents, workers, businesses, visitors, and environment

• Act as a representative of the Mayor’s Office at official functions, while collaborating and interacting extensively with key public and private stakeholders, including members of scientific panels, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• A graduate degree or three to five years of full-time relevant professional experience

• A background in climate resilience planning is not required, but practical experience and/or a background in at least one of the following substantive areas is preferred: an understanding of New York City’s government and policy context; the interplay of climate resilience planning, fiscal trade-offs and economic development; disaster preparedness and emergency management; capital planning for infrastructure

• Management, analytical, and leadership skills which include and are not limited to the ability to lead, manage and coordinate complex projects and inter agency programs; maintain control of analytical details, ability to successfully gain the support of independent stakeholders

• Ability to balance large-scale projects with simple, targeted changes that offer the potential for significant impact
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
