Job Description:

The Global Network for Public Interest Law (PILnet), formerly known as the Public Interest Law Institute (PILI), is seeking a reliable and results-oriented professional to join its senior leadership team and play a central role in the organization's development.The CFO reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for oversight and leadership of all financial functions, risk assessment, information technology, office operations and human resources. The CFO manages the finance and New York operations staff, and is responsible for overseeing the full range of financial management systems including cash management, financial analysis, budgeting, internal controls, audits and reports. The CFO also works closely with the Board Treasurer, auditors and other members of the Finance and Audit Committees as necessary. The CFO is an integral member of PILnet’s senior leadership team.
Qualifications

• BA or BS degree in accounting, business or related field required; CPA, MBA is highly desirable.
• A minimum of ten years experience in finance, accounting or a related field, including at least five years management experience in finance in a non-profit context. Understanding of nonprofit management, governance and governmental compliance required.
• The ideal candidate will bring a high level of personal and professional integrity, excellent written and oral communication skills, strategic thinking, leadership and problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate financial reports effectively and clearly to a broad range of stakeholders.
• Expertise in financial analysis and activity, accounting, budget development, control and reporting, project and grant management and internal controls required.
• Ability to take initiative and to manage multiple tasks and projects at a time.
• A proven leader, who develops, motivates, and manages a high-performing team.
• Knowledge and understanding of international relations and human rights.
